‘The Square’ Wins Top Prize at Cannes; Sofia Coppola Is Best Director

Directed by Ruben Ostlund, “The Square” was a surprise winner of the Palme d’Or. With “The Beguiled,” Ms. Coppola became the second woman in the festival’s history to win the directing prize.
