Two traffic constables suspended

BHARUCH: Two police constables on traffic duty in B division area of Bharuch town were suspended after their video allegedly collecting Rs 20 from commuters went viral of social media on Monday.
The orders of suspension of Ramanbhai Shanubhai and Narendra Gulabrao was issued by Bharuch superintendent of police on Wednesday.
After the video of the two cops became viral on social media, hundreds of comment of citizens complaining about daily collection by these two constables over past few months were reported.
Citizens demanded strict action against the cops. After verification of video, Bharuch SP Sandeep Singh suspended the duo.
These cops were deployed to ease traffic movement during peak hours. However, they took disadvantage of their powers and were found harassing commuters. “Suspension of duo is a message to the entire police force,” a police official said.
