SURAT: Police arrested a woman in Athwa police station for forcing her 15-year-old niece into prostitution and booked four other men for allegedly raping her repetitively during past three months. The accused woman had kidnapped the girl from her residence in Nanpura in November 2017.
Police arrested Lalti alias Kasturi Kamlesh Sahani, 20, a resident of Kosad EWS colony, and booked Bhavesh, Karan, Ramakant, Shilu in Athwa police station. Earlier police had booked Sahani on November 2017 for kidnapping. Sahani is younger sister of the survivor’s mother.
Police investigation revealed that Sahani had come to residence of the survivor on November 9 and took her along luring her to take her to Mumbai. Parents of the survivor had lodged a complaint of kidnapping in Athwa police station on November 13.
The accused took the survivor to her home in Kosad area of city in Amroli police station and forced her into prostitution. The minor was raped by the other four accused booked in the complaint. Sahani sent the minor to residence of the accused and received payment for it. Police are yet to find out the exact details about how she used to run the racket.
