
Meanwhile, majority of single screen theatres and multiplexes have declared that they will not show the movie on January 25. Some theatres in the city have put up a notice outside their premises informing that they are not going to show the movie in theatre.
The RRKS was granted permission for dharna on Wednesday. They had assured police that it would be a peaceful protest.
"We are peacefully creating awareness about the actual history and how the movie was making modifications to the actual history. We pray to queen Padmini as our mother and we cannot allow anyone tarnishing her image," south Gujarat sangh rakshak of RRKS Vikramsinh Shekhawat said. Three members of the group — Shekhawat, Sanjaysinh Gohil and Shailedrasinh Rajput — sat on hunger strike at the spot. Police provided bandobast at the spot and instructed the protesting groups to ensure peace.
Meanwhile, police have installed heavy security in the city for Thursday. From early hours on Thursday, two companies of rapid action force, one platoon of state reserve police, 270 women police and entire force of city police will be part of the bandobast. Police teams will be keeping close watch on those creating disturbance. "Police have installed tight bandobast and all officers have been instructed that they should take stern actions if anyone tries to disturb peace. I have also issued warning to police officers that if anyone found to be weak in controlling the miscreants," city police commissioner Satish Sharma said.
