However, the school administration claimed that the student was sent home to get fees since he did not pay fees in last three academic years. District education officer, U N Rathod, ordered an inquiry in the incident and based on the report further actions will be taken.
Ridhhish Chawda, 14, student of class IX in Sarvoday Vidhyalay at Katargam, was brought to NCH after he consumed phenyl to end life. His father Keshav made him to vomit at home on coming to know about the attempt. His condition was declared normal during medical examination at the hospital.
Ridhhish was asked to deposit school fees on Wednesday but he was not carrying any money. The school authorities asked him to go home and informed him to pay the fees immediately. After reaching home he consumed phenyl bout which his father came to know in few seconds.
"The school officials did not send him home but he was asked to get his parents. The student did not pay fees since last three academic years. The parents never come to meet the school authorities despite being asked to come," said Vasant Kohli, managing trustee of Sarvoday Vidhyalay, a self-finance school on Ved Road.
