According to the police, two men offered Darshana Soni (44), a resident of Pushpak Society, to clean her gold ornaments using a special substance. They gave Soni and her daughter Mansi powder to rub on their hands and gold bangles. As the mother-daughter rubbed the powder on their hands, it started itching. Darshana removed ornaments from the hand and put the gold bangles in tamarind powder as directed by the accused duo. They then distracted the mother-daughter duo and fled with the gold jewellery.
Varachha police registered an offence under IPC 406, 420, 452, 114 against the two accused. tnn
