New minister of state for health visits NCH

SURAT: Newly appointed health minister of state and Surat Varachha MLA Kishor Kanani visited New Civil Hospital (NCH) on Friday in his first official visit to the facility. On the occasion he asked administration to provide good, cheap and cordial services to medium and lower class people of the city.
Kanani also said that his next visit would be unannounced and he expects to see the same amount of cleanliness in the hospital which is visible at present. He urged doctors to be cordial and sympathetic with poor patients and treat them right.
On the occasion he discussed about the shortage of staff, medical equipment's and other things required in the medical facility of this size and assured early resolution of such issues.
According to the available data, every day nearly 3000 OPD patients are treated and 175 new patients are admitted in this 500 bed hospital. In the year 2017, in NCH 9127 new children were born as 9127 pregnant mothers were taken care of in NCH.
