One arrested for threatening cop’s wife to leak her images

SURAT: Police arrested a 32-year-old civil engineer from Ukai village of Tapi district in Dindoli police station of city on Tuesday for allegedly threatening a policeman's wife to share her obscene images on social media if she does not continue friendship with him. After issuing threats over phone the accused had come to residence of the woman and created ruckus after which the woman approached police.
Police arrested Kamlesh Vasava and produced him in court on Tuesday. He was sent into judicial custody. Police booked him under Indian Penal Code sections 354 - harassment, 506 - criminal intimidation and 509 - insulting modesty of a woman. The complaint was lodged by the 25-year-old woman, wife of a police constable.
The accused and the woman were friends since childhood and the accused had developed feelings for the woman. Meanwhile, the woman got married at early age. Vasava stayed in her touch through facebook. Later, he started sending obscene images to the complainant and demanded to develop relationship further. The woman refused to stay in touch following the demands after which the accused made threat calls. The complainant stopped picking up phone after which the accused came to her residence in the city and created ruckus. The woman later informed her family members and hey approached police.
