Surat: Rs 2 lakh fraudantly withdrawn from bank account of a woman

SURAT: An unidentified person was booked in Puna police station of city on Monday for alleged cheating of Rs 2 lakh with a 42-year-old woman.
Rs 2 lakh was withdrawn via online transaction from Limbayat area resident Sanjudevi Baheti's bank account in October 2017. The accused had withdrawn the money from Baheti's bank account in IDBI Bank at Puna Patiya branch. Baheti's bank account was operated by her husband Jagdish, who is a textile businessman.
Baheti was told by the bank that the amount has been transferred though online transaction. Both, Baheti and her husband said they have not shared their password or ATM PIN with anyone in the past.
"It is still a mystery that how the money was transferred from bank account of the complainant. She and her husband have that they have not shared the bank account details with anyone," said police.
