Surat: A total of 42 traffic brigade personnel, including men and women, were taken off duty for a month by deputy commissioner of police, traffic, R F Sangada on Monday. They were found to be irregular in their duty and not at the spot of their posting by senior officials and thus suspended as part of punishment.
Nineteen were suspended from Delhi Gate police station, seven from Athwa police station and 16 from Varachha police station. These traffic brigade personnel were found to be irregular on duty on October 7 by senior officials of city police, who brought this to the notice of traffic police authorities.
