Surat: Nine students from the city won medals in the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championship held recently in Canada.
Ayushi Gaud and Priyanka Patel, both girls, won gold medals in Taekwondo championship, while Jai Kimiyagar, Kevin Mehta, Bhavya Purohit and Vrajraj Vaghela won silver medals. Rajvi Master, Tanaya Surana and Tej Patel won bronze medals.
The championship was held in Montreal from September 26 to 28. "A total of 15 students from our academy had participated in the event and were successful in winning nine medals. This is a result of our hard work for the last 17 years and we are proud of our students' achievements," Dynamic Warrior Martial Arts Academy's Pamir Shah said. Around 56 Taekwondo players from Indian had taken part in the championship.
