Surat: Two persons were caught by the police for the murder of a 28-year-old man on Thursday. Sagar Shivaji Bansur (20), a resident of Limbayat, and a 17-year-old juvenile were caught by the police for the murder.
Washerman Pankaj alias Sonu Ishi returned to his house in Saikrupa Society, Limbayat, at 11pm on Wednesday. He went out after half-an-hour, leaving his mobile phone at home. His naked body was later found in an open plot near his house. A police complaint was registered at Limbayat police station in this connection.
Sonu reportedly had an argument with Sagar over a petty issue. Sagar and his teenage friend hit Sonu with a sharp-edged weapon and killed him on the spot. They removed his clothes and threw the body in an open plot before fleeing.
"The victim had multiple injury marks. He was hit on the back of his head, left cheek and on chin with a sharp-edged weapon," a police officer said.
