SURAT: A 32-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh has been arrested from Dindoli area of the city for raping a six-year old girl on October 21.
The little girl in her physical agony went home crying and informed her parents, who registered a complaint.
Police registered the offence under IPC 363, 376(2) (6 ) (M) and under section 4 and 6 of the protection of children from Sexual offence act -2012( POCSO).
A senior official from Dindoli police said, "We have got medical tests of the accused conducted and arrested him. The accused tried running off from the city but we formed teams and sent it to different locations to nab him."
He also said that victim is undergoing medical treatment at present . The accused is a labourer and lives in Surat from last few years.
The accused had tried to escape but police teams managed to nab him on Sunday .
