3. The massacre at a Texas church was captured on video. The images, according to an official briefed on the contents, show the gunman methodically shooting his victims, execution style, for seven terrifying minutes.
Rosanne Solis, above, survived the shooting and spoke to us about it in this 360 video. “I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to go back to that church,” she said.

5. It looks like all-out war in the N.F.L.
Jerry Jones, the powerful owner of the Dallas Cowboys, is threatening to sue over efforts to extend the contract of the commissioner, Roger Goodell, furious on two counts: that Goodell suspended Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys’ star running back, after he was accused of domestic violence; and that Goodell has not halted players’ anthem protests. According to several people with direct knowledge of the situation, Jones told other owners last week that he’d hired David Boies, the high-profile lawyer (who has come under fire in the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment case).

6. The latest in news related to sexual harassment and assault:
The director of the Armory Show, a top international art fair, was ousted after he was accused of sexual harassment. Benjamin Genocchio, above, said “he never intentionally acted in an inappropriate manner.” And Heather Unruh, a TV journalist in Boston, said Kevin Spacey reached into her 18-year-old son’s pants at a bar last year. Mr. Spacey did not immediately respond.
And TripAdvisor started putting symbols next to hotels and resorts identified as locations of sexual assault. The move came after the company had to apologize for deleting the review of a woman who said she was raped at a Mexican resort, because her language wasn’t “family-friendly.”

7. The opera singer Audrey Luna, above, sings the highest note ever at the Metropolitan Opera.
The A above high C lasts for just a second during “The Exterminating Angel,” by Thomas Adès, about a blue-bloods dinner party that guests are mysteriously unable to leave.
Our article includes an audio clip of Ms. Luna’s achievement, which our writer says is a product of genetics, training and psychological discipline over two fragile vocal cords.

8. The late-night host Conan O’Brien is filming his shows at the Apollo Theater in Harlem this week, and Jon Stewart popped by to give him a “New York City citizenship test.”
The crowd jeered after this exchange: “Where in New York City is the ball dropped every year?”
“Citi Field,” Mr. O’Brien shot back. Ouch.
