22-year-old tele-caller alleges rape, 47-year-old realtor claim extortion in counter complaints

SURAT: Over a year old relationship between a 47-year-old real estate developer and a 22-year-old mobile number sales woman turned awry when the woman approached police to lodge a rape complaint against the man. While the realtor lodged police complaint that he has been framed in the fabricated rape compliant to extort money.

Police booked Alpesh Patel, 47, a resident of Adajan, in detection of crime branch (DCB) on Monday for allegedly raping the 22-year-old girl. The complaint was lodged by the survivor woman and she alleged that she was raped in Lonavla, Maharashtra on November 2 when she went along with the accused. She alleged that she was made to drink beer when they stayed in a resort and later she was raped in their three days stay.

In the counter complaint by Patel, police booked the woman, her mother and brother on Monday for allegedly extorting cash and valuables worth lakhs. The woman allegedly threatened Patel to lodge a complaint of rape against him if her demands are not met. The woman allegedly extorted cash Rs 13 lakh, a Hyundai Creta car, a scooter, air conditioner, fridge and furniture worth lakhs.

The woman got her photos clicked with Patel and used it to threaten the complainant. The woman had threatened to commit suicide and hold Patel responsible for her suicide. She demanded an apartment from Patel.
