SURAT: Unidentified persons carried out theft of cash and jewellery worth Rs 3.17 lakh at a house in Kapodra area of the city on Monday.
The family had gone out of town during the Diwali vacation when the incident took place. The burglars stole Rs2.37 lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs80,160 from the house of Govind alias Babu Parsottam Narola (66).
Narola, a property broker, who had gone to his native village Damnagar in Amreli district, found the house burgled upon returning on October 29. Unidentified persons were booked at Kapodara police station for the theft on Monday. tnn
