Surat: A former collection agent working in a flour mill was booked at Puna police station on Monday for carrying out cheating of Rs27 lakh with his employer. Accused Nirmal Sharma, former collection agent of Maa Ambaji Flour Mill in Parvat Patiya, allegedly collected payment from various clients of the mill but did not deposit it in the office. The complaint was lodged by Mohit Mehra. Sharma disappeared after receiving the payment in August after which Mehra approached police. Sharma then surfaced and promised to return the money. Mehra did not register police complaint then. Since Sharma failed to return the money, Mehra lodged the complaint against him. tnn
