Salabatpura police station officials said a textile trader Gautam Jain, living in Vinayak Residency in Magob, had sold saris to John Iscon Firm run by Yash Rajpurohit and his father Bhanvarji Rajpurohit in Puna Patiya. He alleged that after making some initial payments on time and gaining their trust, the duo purchased saris worth Rs 30,76,835 between May 4, 2015, and May 14, 2016 from them.
The Rajpurohits had paid through cheques which, however, were returned by the bank due to insufficient funds in their accounts. When Jain approached them for payment, they continued making false promises. Ultimately, they closed their shop and fled from the city.
In another case, embroidery job work unit owner Dhiraj Kanala of Katargam lodged a complaint against a trader identified as Bharat Nagar doing business in Ambaji Textile Market on Ring Road. Kanala alleged that Nagar had supplied him 1,725 plain dyed saris for embroidery work. He completed the work and returned the saris to him. Nagar was supposed to pay him Rs 3,12,900 in 45 to 60 days time. However, he did not pay up, forcing Kanala to lodge a complaint against him.
