Kodinar teacher is a mother to donor’s kids

Sitting 600km away in Kodinar, Jesinh Vala, a 45-year-old primary school teacher, regularly keeps track of Karan and Shweta's studies. He guides them in all subjects and gives them tips whenever necessary. After all, he owes his life to their mother Gayatri Chauhan.
Vala was staring at death in April 2015 following a liver failure. But Gayatri came as a God sent and her liver saved his life.
"I consider it as my responsibility to ensure that Karan and Shweta get a good education. Karan is in class X and Shweta in class XII. I keep track of their education from my house. But I travel to Surat whenever I can as they are like my own children. My daughter and Gayatri's children even spend vacations together," Vala told TOI.
Gayatri's husband Girish (39), a tailor in Katargam, said, "Our native is not far from Kodinar. So we make it a point to meet up and spend time whenever we can."
"I lost my wife but Vala is like a mother to my children," he said.
