Kaushal Khanna (52), a businessman residing in Athwalines, had taken Rs 6 crore from Manish Tailor, his son Vipul Tailor and one Amar Thakkar a few years ago, which he failed to repay. Khanna, who owns a hotel in Goa, had taken the money from them to buy a plot of land in the city.
Khanna registered a police complaint against them at Umra police station alleging that the three accused had been threatening to kill his son and break his bones since August 2016 if he didn't repay them their Rs 11 crore with interest. Police said Khanna failed to repay the capital because high interest rate charged by the trio was continuously increasing the outstanding dues. Police said Manish Tailor and Amar Thakkar had in the past been arrested in a murder case. Vipul Tailor is an anti-social element too.
The trio has been booked under Section 42 of Gujarat Money-Lenders Act and IPC Sections 387, 452, 504,427 and 114. The moneylenders were able to get bail soon after their arrests.
