Don’t vote for BJP even if you dislike Cong: Hardik

Surat: After holding a massive 60-km road show in the Diamond City, Patidar quota spearhead Hardik Patel gave clarion call the community members not to vote for the BJP on December 9 when Saurashtra and south Gujarat goes to polls in the first phase.

Addressing a mammoth gathering in Patidar-dominated Varachha area, Hardik said, "If we don't get desired results on December 18, we won't be able to resurrect for the next 10-15 years. You must remember how we were tortured and beaten and none of the diamond barons of MLAs come to our help. Even if we don't wake up after our youths and women were beaten inside our homes, we don't need to carry out such a massive agitation."

"If you don't like the Congress, don't vote for them. But at the same time, please ensure that you don't vote for the BJP," he said even as chants of 'Panjo' rented the air.

Talking about Patidars diamond workers, Hardik said that they earning nothing more than Rs 25,000, which is grossly inadequate to give decent education for their children in good schools or colleges. "Had there been development, there wouldn't have been 12 lakh Patidars wouldn't have required to migrate for work to Surat,

"Our movement is for reservation. The participation of over one lakh people in the road show is a proof enough that our movement has huge support. The awareness created by this rally will hit the electoral prospects BJP in the Patidar-dominated areas," said Hardik.

Hitting out at national BJP president, Amit Shah, Hardik also accused the BJP of causing a rift within the Patidar community.

Hardik also claimed to have received a phone call from some "old friends" who offered him Rs five crore in lieu of cancelling or postponing the the road show and public meeting.

Referring to this sex CDs, Hardik said, "These people don't even know how to play politics. Had they come out with the CD on December 7, it could have had some effect."

"Instead of coming out with CDs of their achievements in 22-years, they chose to bring out CDs of a 23-year-old," he said, asking the crowd if anyone in the city was born in hospitals made by BJP or are getting education in schools built by the party.
